Encoding/Decoding and Processing of Haptic Data
Relates to SENSOPAC Work Package 1: 1B.1 and Work Package 2: 2A.3
people involved: Hannes Saal, Heiko Hoffmann (in 2006), Sethu Vijayakumar
Role within SENSOPAC
We aim for the detection of sensorimotor contingencies by the incorporation of haptic data for learning dynamics. Haptic data also plays an important role in context estimation.
This subproject is concerned with preprocessing the raw data, e.g. extracting interesting and useful features, so that further steps can be carried out more easily.
This work will be informed by the work on neural encoding of tactile afferents during grasping and exploration in human hands [based on work by UMEA (Johansson)].

Detailed description will soon appear here.
